It was great watching you (and making you repeatedly facepalm with my bad jokes). And now for the review. 
You've been experimenting with various colour schemes, and here they complement the Christmas theme well. You were careful not to have areas clash with each other, for example when you originally had red scales. The colours for the cat itself are natural.
The gradients help add depth and tone down the colours. The blending is very smooth and considers the lighting well, particularly where you explained that the membranes would be partially lit.
